Faith Responding to Need

Our vision is to help alleviate poverty in Hunterdon County.

…by connecting people in need with solutions.

HIOC is guided by three principles: Donate, Advocate, and Impact Lives

The Hunterdon Interfaith Outreach Council addresses poverty for individuals and families in Hunterdon County and connects people in need with solutions. HIOC is guided by three principles: Donate, Advocate, and Impact Lives

Donate - We collect money from local religious congregations, businesses, and individuals in order to fund the social need priorities identified by HIOC: utility bills and security deposits.

Advocate - As a united council of faith leaders responding to need, we advocate for social issues when the need arises.

Impact Lives - We are guided by the needs of our community. We discern these through input from local social service agencies, the "boots on the ground,” and we allocate donations where the funds will make the most impact in the lives of our community.

HIOC is a totally voluntary organization. The funds we collect raised go directly to help those who cannot pay their utility bills, or who cannot come up with a security deposit for their home

Since 2011, HIOC and its affiliates have raised over $250,000 to help families in Hunterdon County.
